Visualization techniques help people understand and analyze complicated datasets. While statistical techniques may determine correlations among data, visualization helps us frame what questions to ask, and aims to present such data in an effective and aesthetically appealing way. In this talk, we will describe ways to visualize datasets with the help of conceptual maps. We will consider map representations of several interesting datasets: from movies on Netflix to books on Amazon, and from recipe ingredients to collaborations between research scientists.
